What to Expect

What to Expect

  • When You First Arrive

When you visit Mount View, you are considered our special guest.  You will be greeted warmly as you enter the building by one of our friendly "greeters" who will show you to the Welcome Desk where you will be invited to fill out one of our Visitors Cards.  We are always happy to answer any questions you may have when you first arrive.

  • Getting Settled

One of our friendly ushers will offer you a church bulletin and show you into the auditorium where you will be able to find a comfortable seat.  If you have any questions or concerns, our ushers are ready and able to assist you.  Special needs?  Never a problem!

  • What about the children?

Mount View provides a spacious and well-staffed Nursery for all services.  Our Nursery is conveniently located adjacent to the auditorium.  There is also Sunday School for all ages, including youth, and Junior Church for the younger children (ages 3-9).  An usher will be more than happy to introduce you to our Nursery staff or teachers.

  • What should I wear?

You needn't feel awkward about what to wear.  While we encourage folks to dress for the occasion, we have no set dress code at Mount View.  You will find some folks dressed in their "Sunday best" and others dressed in more casual attire.

  • Should I bring a Bible?

We encourage everyone to bring their Bible. God's Word is precious at Mount View. Pastor Hansen and our Bible teachers use only the King James Version of the Bible. However, you are welcome to follow along with whatever version you prefer.

  • What about the offering?

The ushers collect an offering during our main services but, as a visitor, you are our special guest.  You needn't feel obliged to put anything in the offering plate.  Don't be embarrassed to pass the plate on by.

  • What about the music?

We love to sing at Mount View!  Our music might be called old-fashioned, but it's never "stuffy". The hymns of the faith provide the foundation for all our song services. The music is always Christ-centered and God-honoring. Additionally, we often have special music provided by some of our talented members.

  • How long are the services?

The average length of each service at Mount View is one hour, from opening hymn to closing prayer.  Of course, if the need arises, you are free to leave sooner.  If you are concerned that you may need to leave before the service closes, simply let one of our ushers know and they will find a seat for you toward the back so you can slip out more easily.

  • The service is over. Now what?

Mount View is a friendly church.  When the services are over, you will find our folks like to spend time in fellowship.  While you are certainly free to leave as soon as you'd like, we'd love to have you stay awhile and get acquainted.
