Our Pastor
Pastor Gil Hansen received his
education at Baptist Bible College in Springfield, MO.
Following graduation in 1984, he and his wife Sharon
moved to Virginia where they served together at the
Fairfax Baptist Temple. In 1987, together with their
first child, Gil and Sharon moved to Oregon with a
burden to establish the Mount View Baptist Temple. The
Hansen’s now have five children and have been
ministering at Mount View for more than twenty years.

Our Church
Mount View Baptist Temple is an
independent, fundamental Baptist church. While
distinctively Baptist in its doctrine, Mount View is
independent from any denominational affiliation. Mount
View is also firmly committed to the fundamentals of the
faith, holding the Bible, God’s Word, as its final
authority in all matters of faith and practice.
Mount View makes no apology for its adherence to its New
Testament heritage, exalting Christ alone as head of the
church.

Our
Leadership
“Without counsel purposes are
disappointed: but in the multitude of counselors they
are established” (Proverbs 15:22). In light of this
scriptural admonition, Mount View Baptist Temple has
been blessed with a number of men who assist in
providing counsel and direction in the affairs of the
church. The leadership of Mount View includes, among
others, an assistant pastor, deacons, and a treasurer.
This group of men meets regularly to pray and discuss
the needs of the church.

Our
Philosophy
Mount View Baptist Temple exists
for one supreme purpose – to bring glory to God. To
this end, every service and every ministry is built upon
the foundation of God’s Holy Word. Mount View is
dedicated to the pursuit of the three things dearest to
God’s heart: the exaltation of the Lord Jesus Christ,
the evangelization of the lost, and the edification of
the believer.
